We led PR and digital amplification for Hilda Baci across two historic record-breaking moments: her cook-a-thon and the World Jollof Festival in partnership with Gino.

Our role was to turn these moments into cultural milestones. From real-time storytelling to nationwide and global amplification, we ensured Hilda’s journey didn’t just break records but dominated conversations and cemented her status as a cultural icon.

The Challenge

Two major challenges defined this project. First, sustaining attention beyond the live record-breaking moments. Cook-a-thons and large-scale food events naturally peak during execution, but quickly fade if not amplified strategically. We needed to keep audiences engaged before, during, and after.

Second, managing scale and perception. Both events required driving massive nationwide and international attention while balancing event coordination, brand visibility for Gino, and real-time crisis management. Finally, we had to elevate Hilda beyond “just a chef” into a symbol of national pride and global relevance, while ensuring both her and Gino maintained consistent, positive visibility across platforms.

We executed an integrated PR and digital amplification strategy built on real-time storytelling, cultural relevance, and community participation. At the core was nonstop digital coverage. We treated both record attempts as live cultural events, leveraging social listening and trend-jacking to keep Hilda at the centre of conversation across platforms. We activated influencers, media, brands, and fan communities to drive user-generated content and organic buzz at scale. Every moment became shareable, from behind-the-scenes prep to milestone achievements.
